The 2013 Belmont County Fair will be September 3rd through 8th.
I would like to take a moment to welcome everyone to the 164th Belmont County Fair! I would also like to ask those who take the time to read this, to take a few moments while at the fair, to stop and look around at everything that has been accomplished in just four short years. The Belmont County Agricultural Society Board of Directors, along with family members and the generous support of local businesses and individuals have been able to create these beautiful and ever growing fairgrounds. The new fairground not only houses the fair but numerous activities throughout the year. I can never express enough gratitude to those who have put in countless hours at the grounds or behind the scenes to make this facility the place it has become.
Twelve years ago, I ran for my first term on the Belmont County Agricultural Board of Directors to be able to help with the fair. I have met too many people to mention and have made more friends than I could ever have imagined. I have seen fellow members leave for various reasons. Some board members have passed on and others have chosen different paths in life. One thing is certain that throughout the 164 years of the Belmont County Fair, the fair has always continued. This will be my last letter as the President of the Board as I will be traveling a path of change in my life and I must move on. The position of President is one I have been very proud to serve in for the past six years. I have had the opportunity to see the new fairgrounds become a reality. I am proud to have been an active part of an organization that provides an outstanding educational opportunity for the youth of Belmont County, a family oriented experience for the citizens of Belmont County, and a facility all Belmont County residents can be proud of.
Thanks to Everyone,
Gerald D. Campbell, President
Belmont County Agricultural Society
